The ATS-3020.Auto machine is an advancement of the ATS-3020 model towards increased automation due to installing an automatic tool change system. This machine allows the use of the “Nesting” cutting technology.

Construction

The machine’s solid welded frame is made of steel profile tubes. The portal supports are made of cast iron to avoid excessive vibrations during processing. To ensure the quality of the machine parts, they are processed on modern CNC metalworking equipment.

The VCarve Pro software offers various tools and options for creating control programs for CNC machines, including cutting, milling, engraving, and processing of flat and three-dimensional surfaces.

Vacuum Table

A matrix table made of impact-resistant composite material and a powerful vacuum pump will ensure reliable fastening of sheet materials. Additionally, it can be equipped with integrated T-slots for combined fastening of processed workpieces.

Replacing Stepper Motors with Servo Motors

Compared to stepper motors, servo motors provide greater speed and smoother operation of the machine. This option is recommended if the main requirement is high productivity of the machine.

Extraction system

The primary purpose of the system is to remove dust, smoke, gases, and harmful substances generated during laser cutting. This system may also include extraction devices, filters, fans, and other components to maintain a clean and safe air environment in the working area.

Centralized Lubrication System

It provides convenient machine maintenance by allowing quick lubrication of all necessary components. A manual control pump supplies lubricant material.

Do you conduct machine installation and training?

Yes, we do. Upon the client’s request, our specialists perform installation work and provide training on the basics of machine operation and creating toolpaths.

Can you increase the number of tools in the tool magazine?

The base configuration of a CNC machine includes four interchangeable tools in the tool magazine. We can increase the tool magazine size up to twelve tools without any structural modifications. However, a change in the linear magazine’s layout is required to accommodate even more tools.

What kind of compressor is necessary for a CNC machine?

An additional compressor is required for machines with automatic tool change. For stable and proper operation, a compressor capable of maintaining pressure at the machine’s input of 8-10 bar and having a productivity of 420 normal litres per minute is necessary. The preferred volume of the compressor’s receiver should be at least 200 litres.

Which ATC spindle should I choose?

Our company uses spindles from both Italian and Chinese manufacturers in machines with automatic tool change.

The advantages of Italian spindles are precision manufacturing, long service life (at least five years), and repairability. The downside of such a spindle is its high cost.

The advantage of Chinese spindles is their low cost, while the downside is their shorter service life compared to Italian manufacturers.

What should I choose: stepper motors or servo motors?

Stepper motors offer a low-cost solution, the ability to operate at low speeds without deteriorating performance, and, most importantly, precise positioning and good tolerance to mechanical loads, instilling confidence in the quality of your choice. The advantages of servo motors are precise movement, quiet operation, high acceleration, long service life, and smooth motion. Therefore, the choice between servo motors and stepper motors as the feed drives for a CNC machine should be made based solely on economic and technical feasibility. What CAM software should be used for "Nesting" technology?

Any software that supports saving the control program in G-code format can be used. For example: VCarve Pro, Aplhacam, NESTINGWorks, SigmaNest, VisualCAM, PowerShape/Mill, Fusion360 with Nesting AddOn, and others.

For “Nesting” technology, our company uses VCarve Pro software from Vectric.

Is the vacuum pump sufficient to hold the workpiece?

The ATS-3020 machine’s vacuum table is equipped with a vacuum pump with a power of 5.5 kW, a maximum capacity of 320 m3/h, and a maximum discharge of 440 mbar. The pump’s high productivity, combined with a specially designed vacuum table construction, ensures quality and reliable workpiece clamping..

How do you create toolpaths for the machine?

Various CAM software allows the creation of toolpaths, such as V-Carve, ArtCAM, Rhinoceros, Deskproto, etc.
