VCarve Pro software

The VCarve Pro software offers various tools and options for creating control programs for CNC machines, including cutting, milling, engraving, and processing of flat and three-dimensional surfaces.

Rotary axis

It is used for manufacturing cylindrical-shaped products and for processing parts from multiple sides. The maximum processing diameter of workpiece is 100(200) mm. To control a machine with a rotary axis, a CNC controller with four independently controlled axes is required.

Extraction system

What are the advantages of a disk tool changer?

The advantage is the speed of tool change. Unlike a linear-type magazine, a disk-type magazine is located on the machine’s gantry, closer to the spindle. This positioning significantly saves time during tool changes, especially for large-format machines.

Is it possible to use HSK tool holders?

We recommend equipping the machine with a spindle that works with an HSK tool holder for large-diameter milling cutters. Our company installs two types of spindles with Automatic Tool Change Interface: those compatible with ISO tool holders or with HSK 63F tool holders. The spindle is selected according to the customer’s requirements.

What is the maximum number of tools in the tool magazine?

The base configuration of a CNC machine includes four interchangeable tools in the tool magazine. We can increase the tool magazine size up to seven tools without any structural modifications. However, a change in the linear magazine’s layout is required to accommodate even more tools.

What mechanism is used for rotating the disk tool changer?

There are three types of mechanisms for rotating the carousel:

  1. Belt-driven gearbox;
  2. Geneva mechanism;
  3. Planetary gearbox.

Our company utilizes the third type of mechanism. Rotation is achieved using a planetary gearbox paired with a servo motor. This system is the most efficient and has no drawbacks associated with the previous mechanisms.

Which ATC spindle should I choose?

Our company uses spindles from both Italian and Chinese manufacturers in machines with automatic tool change.

The advantages of Italian spindles are precision manufacturing, long service life (at least five years), and repairability. The downside of such a spindle is its high cost.

The advantage of Chinese spindles is their low cost, while the downside is their shorter service life compared to Italian manufacturers.

What kind of compressor is necessary for a CNC machine?

An additional compressor is required for machines with automatic tool change. For stable and proper operation, a compressor capable of maintaining pressure at the machine’s input of 8-10 bar and having a productivity of 420 normal litres per minute is necessary. The preferred volume of the compressor’s receiver should be at least 200 litres.

Is a PC required for the machine?

An industrial computer controls CNC machines with automatic tool change, which is integrated into the machine’s control system. Therefore, a PC is not required for such machines.
